Good-Bye Frack Crew

Thursday night was a very quiet night here in the oil patch.  With the frack ending yesterday afternoon and the icky weather warranting the frack company to ‘shut down’ until this morning.  Michael’s last vehicle through the gate headed out about 9:00 pm last night.  I went to bed about 9:30 and was awoke by … Continue reading »

Done Fracking, Now What?

Yesterday’s numbers were pretty consistent with what we’ve been experiencing since the frack started last Thursday. We had 237 ‘in & outs’ for the day. Today started off strong as well…Michael logged 21 sand trucks, alone, between midnight and 7:00 am…that doesn’t count any other traffic. This morning was kind of on the quiet side…enough … Continue reading »

Crew Change, A Mexican Treat & DUST!

When I first woke up this morning I thought I’d had a miracle cure as my leg felt pretty darn good.  However, after a little movement I could tell that I was still in the same condition I went to bed in.  Oh well…life goes on…I’ll just take it slow and steady, rest it as … Continue reading »

Sand Trucks & Nosy Neighbors

We started the day (ok…Michael ended his day) with a yummy breakfast of bacon, eggs, biscuits and gravy.  I cooked while Michael dealt with shift change (lovingly known as ‘the mad dash’).  By the time (6:45ish) breakfast was ready things had calmed down substantially and we were able to enjoy dinner with just 1 interruption. … Continue reading »

Sand Trucks, Water Hoses & The Mad Dash

Michael had his first busy night last night.  Throughout the night sand trucks came and went and then the work hands started arriving about 3:30 am and continued arriving until just before 6:00 am. Once the shift influx was over it calmed down quite a bit. By the time Michael went to bed, shortly after … Continue reading »

The Start Of Fracking

Traffic flow has definitely started to change.  Michael’s last vehicle went through the gate at 10:18 pm and the first vehicle through the gate this morning at 3:46 am.  By the time that I got up shortly before 6:00 am he was about 3/4 of the way through our first sheet of the day. We … Continue reading »

Questions Answered, Enchilda Casserole & Road Runners

Michael had a quiet night again.  His last log was at 10:12 pm last night and his first was at 5:31 this morning.  Last night was easier for him as he works into his schedule.  He got tired around 2:30 am and then cat-napped on and off until 4:30 ish.  When I got up at … Continue reading »
