Wow! What a busy day! Dennis was here about 8:00 am to begin working on converting our electric drum brakes to electric over hydraulic. Dennis was such a sport! He stopped and started working numerous times throughout the day while customers stopped him to ask questions.
Even after fielding LOTS of questions, Dennis finished up just after 5:00 pm. The install took him a couple hours longer than normal but he was so awesome with the customers, I was really impressed.
We’re looking forward to pulling out on Monday to see the difference in our braking power!
We made several sales and had quite a few people show interest as well.
We had plans to go out to dinner with Dennis and his family but after such a long day we all decided we weren’t up for it so we decided to do it Thursday night instead.
Michael and I went to La Casa Cafe for dinner. Every place you go here has a wait this time of year. We drove by this place and it didn’t have a line out the door so we decided to try it. We waited for about 15 minutes before we were seated
Michael ordered turkey and dressing and I ordered a taco salad with shredded beef. Michael enjoyed his meal and mine was ok…just nothing special. Maybe it was because I was so tired. Whatever it was it’s not a place I’d write off as the staff and service were all very friendly.
By the time we got home (8:00 pmish) we were exhausted and went straight to bed! I even took a muscle relaxer to help me sleep as I hadn’t been sleeping very well.
It was a quieter day. We were both able to work on some follow-up emails/phone calls that need to be taken care of….but still weren’t able to take care of everything.
We’ve been blessed to make some good friends here that we’ll hope to catch out on the road during the year. Both couples we’ve really connected with have Wisconsin roots, which is pretty awesome!
We were able to get together with Dennis and his family for dinner. We too them to the Times Three Family Restaurant, where we went the first night we were here. We all ordered something different and I think everyone enjoyed their meals. Ok…well Michael and I both ordered the same meal. They were out of turkey for turkey Manhattans, so we both had the beef Manhattan, which was very good as well.
We enjoyed spending time with Dennis, Mavis and their two youngun’s – Kevin and Madison. They were so well-behaved and kept themselves occupied while we old folks visited. We chatted for a long time before heading to the local Dollar General to pick up a couple of items before heading home for the night.
Dennis stopped by this morning on the way to do his last install here in Quartzsite. He’s done an install every day since last Thursday, except for Sunday, which he took off.
He stopped by on his way to his install to pick up all of our left over product. Rather than shipping it back to our warehouse in Oklahoma, he’ll buy the product from us and have it on hand to sell to customers he may find on his own. Win/win!
There was a whole lot less traffic. However, those that stopped by had been by earlier in the week and placed orders.
The benefit of less show traffic was that we both were able to get caught up returning phone calls and emails, filing contact sheets and getting a little organization back into our life.
It was so nice to be able to close up shop at 5:00 pm and pretty much be done for the night. We hadn’t been able to do that in nearly a week.
I made dinner and we relaxed in our recliners while watching TV for several hours before calling it a night.
We have just two days left of the show. Hopefully we can get a couple more sales squeezed in!
