We started our day with breakfast down in the breakfast are of the hotel – waffles, bacon, bagels, pastries, fruit, cereals, etc. Since it’s during the week there weren’t too many people down there when we got there about 8:30 am so we had no problem finding a table.
Michael wanted to do some RV shopping since we’re in the RV capitol of the world and everything is pretty much at our finger tips.
Our first stop was at RV Parts Nation, which is almost next door to the hotel. They have a lot of RV furniture so we checked it out but didn’t find anything to our liking. I settled into the recliner portion of a sectional while Michael meandered around the store checking things out. I was surprised when he only came back with 2 ‘scare’ lights for the outside of the coach valued at $12 each.
We also stopped at RV Factory Surplus and found that they had moved from one building on the property to another. Once again, I found a nice comfy camp chair to chill in while Michael did his shopping. As at the other store I was quite surprised when he walked away with a couple of replacement light switches, ac filters, screws with painted heads and some screw covers. He could have gone crazy but he used restraint…quite proud of him.
While we were out we stopped at Heartland to see how things were going with the coach and were happy to see that they had it all torn apart! LOL Ok…that might not sound good but since this is our third time in three years back with the same issue it was nice to see that they were actually tearing into it and gonna do a ‘full’ fix rather than the partial that had been done previously.
In between stops we had lunch at Long John Silvers – one of our favorites and you can’t find them all over. We share a meal and get a couple of extras and then each have a complete meal.
When we got back to the hotel we took a mid-afternoon dip in the pool (me) and then relaxed in the hot tub (both of us) for a while. Kind of a nice way to spend a unwind in the middle of the day…especially since we had the place to ourselves.
For dinner we tried Jade Garden as it had pretty good reviews on Yelp. It’s been a LONG time since we’ve been at a sit-down Chinese restaurant and really prefer one over a buffet but they’re hard to find. We were both very happy with our meal. Egg roll, soup and our dishes (sweet & sour chicken for Michael and Happy Family for me) were all very good. However, crab rangoon was lacking. Our waiter, Raymond was excellent – attentive and friendly.
Our son, Zack, and his wife Kelsea became the proud new owners of a Heartland Road Warrior 415 today. They traded in their North Trail and joined the ranks of 5th wheel owners across the country. Theirs is a toy-hauler and they currently don’t have anything to haul in it but are hoping to rectify that next summer.
