Just Hangin’ Out

Friday 1/23

Jammie Day!!!

Saturday 1/24

We had a nice, quiet day at home not doing much of anything.

I did a couple of loads of laundry and started working on some Leisure Time Activity (LTA) stuff for the Heartland national rally which is scheduled for June in Goshen, Indiana.

Michael spent a good portion of the afternoon outside doing his favorite thing…putzing.  While he was out there one of our neighbors stopped by several times to chat.  He’s a single gentleman traveling in a truck camper.  He’s from Oshkosh, Wisconsin and considers himself a ‘part-timer’.

Great way to end a nice day

Great way to end a nice day

The weather was great – mid 60s and sunshine…the perfect weather to grill some steaks.  We’d picked up a couple of bacon wrapped filets at the commissary (great prices!) on Thursday along with some baked potatoes (sweet for me, regular for Michael) and some steamed fresh green beans and we were golden.

Sunday 1/25

This morning I put a pot of My Mama’s Spaghetti Sauce on to simmer….THE perfect Sunday Supper!

It was a beautiful day to enjoy the outdoors…sunshine and nice mild temps in the low 70s.  It was interesting to see the various men around the park out and about doing various projects – waxing vehicles, putting up sunscreens on windows, taking out the garbage etc.

I chatted with our door-side neighbor for a bit this morning….another single man.  He retired from a Navy Civil Service job in October and is just beginning is full-time journey.  He hauls a 5er with a trailered car behind it…yikes!  That’s a LOT to be hauling.  He’s from South Dakota…for real…not just an address like us!

Squeaky clean

Michael took a little time to wash the dirt/mud off of the front part of the coach where the truck tires tend to throw sludge from the roads every time we travel.  This time it wasn’t bad at all so a quick once over got it cleaned up in no time.

When that was done he installed a new piece of vinyl trim along the bottom of the front of the  that he ordered from Camping World several weeks ago.  The old trim was dirty and stained and he didn’t care for the way it was looking so it was time to replace it.

He also buffed out the door-side of the coach.  The person we had wash and wax the coach while in Arkansas did a great job of washing but waxing, not so much.  Michael just took a little extra time with the buffer and it looks much better.  He still needs to do the remaining sides of the coach and will add a little extra wax in a few areas that need it and we should be good to go.
