Not nearly as busy today as yesterday but a good day none the less.
Michael worked on another project for his mom. This one involved installing new shelving above the clothes rod in her bedroom closet. It originally had particle board shelves that had drooped so low that she was having trouble getting the hangers off the rod.
He was originally going to install a whole new system but after thinking it over decided to just go with 1×12 boards to replace the old ones (which is what she originally asked for). It was much cheaper and much easier to go this route.
We met our friends, Brock & Tammy, at the Pizza Shack in Glenwood for lunch. They have an awesome buffet of pizza, salad, dessert, pasta for $6.00 or so…which you just can’t beat for good food. We enjoyed our lunch and the time we were able to spend with Brock and Tammy too. Brock is always good for a laugh so we had a lot of laughter going on at our table. Brock even gave us a bottle of homemade pear wine…can’t wait to try it!
We ran a few errands while we were in town and then on the way back to the house we stopped at the cemetery to visit Michael’s dad. He passed away in June 2009 and we try to visit whenever we are back in the area…but it doesn’t always happen. This time we made it happen.
We also walked around the cemetery looking at the various tombstones…deciding what we’d like (and wouldn’t like) on our tombstone some day. Michael’s dad made tombstones for a living so it’s kind of in our blood to check out the various pieces of art and craftsmanship. We’d probably have walked around even longer but it was a bit chilly and Michael had to go potty! LOL
On the way down Alice’s road we happened to see a Shetland pony in a pasture and stopped to admire him/her. I call to her/him (clickin’ my tongue again!) and she/he came running over to the fence. I got out of the truck and went out to visit. I tried to pet him/her and she kind of seemed like she was gonna nip me so instead I just had a nice chat with her/him. Gosh I love animals!
When we got back home, Tony was back to work washing the coach. I think he has it pretty much washed and now all that needs to be done is the waxing.
Long time family friend, Cherie, stopped by to visit for a few hours. We had a good time reminiscing, chatting about the kids and just visiting in general.
I’d put a crock pot of beef stew on this morning so after our visit with Cherie we had dinner waiting for us. Gotta love that crock pot! It was a new recipe and one that we both agreed was a keeper!
While we enjoy our dinner we’ll be watching another Red Box movie we picked up this afternoon…“A Walk Among the Tombstones” with Liam Neeson. We both enjoyed last nights movie (The Maze Runner) so hopefully tonight’s is just as enjoyable!
