Early day! We were up about 5:40 am and on the road a few minutes after 6:00 am. The only good thing about being up that early was the beautiful red sunrise we witnessed. Unfortunately, my camera wasn’t able to capture the beautiful shade of red.
We made a quick stop at McDonald’s for breakfast sandwiches…no time to make our own today…and another quick stop to use the restroom.
We made good time even though we tackled lots of traffic and even drove through Kokomo, Peru and Mexico! We had arranged to be at the factory by 1:00 pm and arrived just about 10:30 am.
Unfortunately, there was a miscommunication and the person we made the appointment with didn’t relay the information to the crew that we wouldn’t be there at 8:00 am (when most appointments are scheduled).
We got a phone call about 9:45 am asking if we were on our way as they were expecting us at 8:00 am. I explained about us arranging to arrive by 1:00 pm and that we were ahead of schedule and would be there in about 45 minutes and they were ok with that.
Michael backed the coach into the bay when we arrived and I went inside to take a few groceries out of the fridge. They’ll keep the coach plugged in while they work on it so that our food will be safe. While I got the groceries Michael went over with the crew what needed to be done.
We’d made reservations at the Microtel Inn just a few miles down the road so we drove over there to see if our room might be ready…it wasn’t so we went across the street to Steak n Shake to grab some lunch and wait for our room to open up.
We were able to get into our room just before 1:00 pm. We carted everything inside, took showers and plan to lounge the day away. Lambert’s leftovers for dinner so we don’t even have to go out!
