Supplies for the bedroom being delivered

Work continues on the bedroom.  The order from Lowes (drywall, 2x4s, insulation, etc) was delivered about 4:00 pm on Tuesday.  The driver left it in the driveway and Michael moved everything but the drywall into the garage.  When Dan got home from work around 7:00 pm, he and Michael moved the drywall into the garage as well.

Alex, being a big fan of trucks and buses, got a big kick out of the big truck that came to his house.  He and I and his baby brother sat out on the front porch and watched the delivery man unload our stuff using the forklift.   The delivery man even waved at Alex, who, in return waved back!

The insulation has been placed in all the rafters and the vapor barrier put up.  Now to move on to putting up the drywall.  The room has a cathedral ceiling so Dan & Mike decided to rent a drywall lift to aid in placing the drywall on the ceiling.  Work is kind of on hold for the weekend and will begin again on Monday, I think.

The builder dropped by Friday afternoon to put a coat of mud on a ceiling repair and after chatting with Michael and finding out that he was finishing the fourth bedroom went upstairs with Michael to check it out.  He gave his sea of approval and also gave Michael a few tips as well.

While Michael’s been working on the room I’ve been spending time with Amanda and the babies.  Amanda works as a gymnastics coach and works a few evenings a week.  Last week and this week it was 3 nights while next week is their ‘VIP Week’ so Amanda will work 5 nights.  I’m thinking I’ll be needing a ‘Calgon Take Me Away’ vacation afterward!  Cooking, Cleaning, taking care of a 2.5 year old, a 9 month old and a 50 year old is NOT easy work!  Sure glad I got all that taken care of when I was young.  LOL

Climbing and sliding is FUN stuff!

Friday afternoon Amanda and I took the boys to the Cow Harbor Park in Northport.  A very nice park with slides, swings and lots of climbing stuff.  The park sits right next to the water of Northport Harbor so we got to enjoy the boats too.  Alex loved sliding down the slides and climbing.  Ben had a blast swinging and just being outside in general.

Across the street from the park is the very quaint downtown area of Northport.  Lots of little shops and cafes line the street.  Could make for a nice afternoon stroll.

When we got home we ordered some authentic pizza from Mario’s Pizzeria and had it delivered.  We got a meatball and bacon pizza and one that was half sausage and half mushroom.  We also ordered the requisite garlic knots – similar to a bread stick but twisted into a knot and loaded with garlic and Parmesan cheese.  We were very pleased with the pizza…knots were a bit lacking.

Dan and Amanda were invited to play games at a friends Friday evening.  They left shortly after 8:00 pm and as soon as they did Nana, Papaw and the boys partyied it up!  LOL  We ate popcorn, watched a couple of episodes of Law & Order:  Special Victims Unit, put the boys to bed at 9:00 pm and we followed about 10:30 pm.  We were all sound asleep by the time Dan and Amanda got home around 12:30 am.
