Winding Down And Gearing Up!

Little green trucks all in a row!

Little green trucks all in a row!

Our day started off fairly busy with a caravan of green trucks coming in to help rig down the flow back crew.  They arrived before 7:30 am and left by noon.  They all came at the same time and all left at the same time…with 5 of the 7 trucks that have been living down there the past week pulling out at the same time too!  They’ve left 2 guys down there to monitor things for the next 24 hours and if all goes well they’ll be pulling out tomorrow as well.

Beside the little green trucks we had other companies coming and going to rig down as well.  They picked up various pieces of equipment – light sets, trailers, safety cones etc etc etc.

Today was ‘company man change day’ too!  Our current company man, Les, was replaced by Britt, a ‘new to us’ company man.  Les has been here the entire 2 weeks he was on duty and will be driving all the way to Canada via Palm Springs, CA so we’re wishing him a safe drive home.

The supervisor of the pipeline construction crew brought us breakfast tacos this morning.  It was quite the surprise as he’s not been a big fan of having to deal with gate guards as, ‘they don’t normally have to deal with gate guards’.  Maybe it hasn’t been as bad as he thought it might be and this was his way of showing it.  Whatever the case…it was a very sweet gesture.

Work continued on the pipeline today.  They ended up working much later (after 7:00 pm) last night but were back here by 7:00 am today.  There’s a big push to get everything up and running by this weekend.  Part of the crew was here until almost 7:30 tonight….hopefully that means that they’ll be able to meet there goal of being done before the weekend.

Getting the grill nice and sparkly clean!

Knowing that the gate will be closing tomorrow afternoon or Friday morning we’ve been working on getting move chores done along with ridding the house of as much oil patch dust as possible.  Michael worked outside – cleaning the grill, cleaning hoses, stowing the mat and various other items that tend to migrate out of their respective homes when we’re in one place for a long period of time.  I worked inside – laundry, sweeping, mopping, dusting, putting together a pot of stew and stowing items for our imminent move.

Kevin (our service guy) stopped by today to top of our water & fuel so that we’d have plenty over the weekend since they have off Friday and Sunday except for emergencies.  Since we’ll be leaving in the next day or so he decided not to top us off (we have plenty of both to last us).

We want to hear from you...whatcha got to say??
