Good Bye H&P 466!

The crew that pressure washes the rig and all of its various parts worked through the night and into today as everything was disassembled and readied to move.

This is what the rig pad looked like this morning....

It was really interesting to see everything come together with the moving of the rig this morning.  There were so many different vehicles going here and there, moving this and that it’s a wonder how there were no collisions!

There were trucks that have a crane-like thingie (girl explanations ahead….beware!) on them that hoisted the various structures onto the various flat beds.  The trucks then moved out of the way so that the structures could be secured to the flat bed and then hauled off site to the new rig location.

Here's what it looked like after the crane-like thingie hoisted a structure onto a truck and before it was pulled onto the back of the truck and secured in place

The company men left for the new location shortly after 8:00 am, leaving the safety guy to stay behind make sure that the move went smoothly on this end.  The safety guy left about 2:00 pm and all that was left was miscellaneous small equipment.

It was a busy day, for sure…not stressful…but busy!  By 3:30 this afternoon we’d already had 330+ vehicles pass through the gate.  We still had vehicles left that were working on tearing down the rig AND the frac crew change was still to come.  Not to mention all the sand trucks…  I can guarantee I will sleep good tonight…however, I may not be able to move tomorrow!

The guy that comes to empty the sewer for the rig came by again today (3 times yesterday too!) and I asked if he had room when he was done if he could pump us out too.  He did end up having room so we’re good to go for a couple of weeks again.  Another guy from the same company gave me 2 hats with their logo on it as he was leaving.

.....and this is what it looked like at the end of the day. Amazing what they can do in the span of 10 hours or so

We also had a visit from Kevin, our service guy, this morning.  He came by to do maintenance on the generator (usually about every 2 weeks).  Once again while he was here he topped off the generator fuel.  So with the fuel topped off, the sewer emptied and the water we received a few days ago we should be good for a couple of weeks no problem.

While Kevin was here he told me that we are actually out of his area but he kept us cuz he likes us…isn’t that sweet!?!

We want to hear from you...whatcha got to say??
