Woohoo! It’s payday and our checking was finally direct deposited today! No more driving 60+ miles round trip to pick it up! Ok…I’ll calm down now.
Michael’s night was steady with various shifts ending and the guys going out the gate until about 1:00 am. It was fairly quiet until 5:00 am when business got crazy! That’s when all the big semi’s starting coming in to pick up various pieces of equipment to be moved to the next location. By 7:00 am we had nearly completed 2 pages (48 vehicles) of log ins…that’s nuts!
The rest of the day was just as busy as Michael’s morning. The big rigs came and went all day long, hauling various pieces of equipment. At one point I logged in and out 10 vehicles in succession. We were told not to stop the big trucks…to just let them come and go…but we did log their plate numbers and company names as they went by…just felt better doing it that way.
By about 7:30 pm the majority of the guys had left and will return in the morning…even the company man and the safety guy. We had a small crew left down there that were doing some pressure washing (of what, I don’t know) and other rig down jobs. So we relaxed in our recliners and watched the newest Survivor episode!
The remainder of the vehicles and equipment should be out by noon/1:00 pm tomorrow and we should be released shortly afterward. Then we’ll be headed back to the yard to await another assignment. Our next post should come to you from Karnes City, Texas! See you then!
