We were up early…about 6:00 am so that we could do a few last minute things before heading into Lake City. Michael did a final dump of the black and gray tanks and then stowed everything in their appropriate tubs, wound up the electrical cord and put away our two folding chairs.
We hitched up and were on our way into town by 7:25 am making it to CW just before 8:00 am. We got checked in, handover the keys and were headed to Bob Evans for breakfast by 8:20 am. We took our time with breakfast as we knew we had about 3 hours to kill.
We were back at CW around 10:00 and checked out most of the 5th wheels they had in stock. There are some nice floor plans out there but we’re still in love with ours.
It wasn’t long and the woman who checked us in was looking for us to let us know that the coach was ready to go! We paid our bill (labor & shop supplies) and were on the road again at 11:45.
We stopped at a rest area about 50 miles down the road to use the facilities. While we were there we capped the 4 Munzees that were there…been a LONG time since we’ve Munzeed! On our way back to the coach we noticed there was another Landmark parked beside us. As we got closer the gentleman got out of the truck (think they’d been waiting for us) and introduced himself. They’d recognized me from the National Rally in Indiana this past summer! It was Robert & Betty Ford and I think I might have even checked them in when the arrived at the rally!
We ended up stopping about an hour later to get a late lunch at McDonald’s. While in line and elderly woman in front of us offered us a coupon for buy one Big Mac get one free, which we took her up on. With our sandwiches and a fry and soda to share, plus an apple pie for each of us, our lunch was $8.86! Deal of the day!
We only had about 30 miles left to the Camping World in Midway, Florida (just outside Tallahassee) –
today’s destination. We’d found online that they offer overnight parking. We pulled into the lot, went inside and asked where they wanted us to park and they directed us to an area that was marked ‘for new RV owners’ that had water and electric hookups. Yeehaw!
After making a few purchases we went back out to the coach and pulled into one of the nice, level sites and hunkered down for the night.
We ended up purchasing a lifetime Good Sam Membership for $149.00 which is a pretty darn good deal if you think about it. Discounts at CW, Good Sam Parks and now and Pilots & Flying Js for fuel.
