Been rather quiet this week. Since we found out that we didn’t get the position in Orlando we’ve moved on with plans to head west. I semi-firmed up our travel route to Texas. Since we’re having some work done on the coach on Monday (the 30th) morning and aren’t sure when we’ll be able to hit the road we have put some tentative plans in place.
Michael’s been continuing his roof cleaning project – he’s had to get more of the ‘magic cleaning pads’ he found at the Dollar Store a couple of times now. And since we usually only go into town once a week that puts a delay on the roof cleaning. He still intends to wash the coach before we pull out as well…if it actually happens…we’ll see.
There’s been a few spots on the outside of the coach where the caulking has needed replacing so he’s been working on that as well.
I’ve been getting all of my projects at the ranger station finished up and even created a position description for a Volunteer Office Assistant. I’ll be able to finish everything up next week and make sure that Debra has a digital copy of all of the documents I’ve created since I’ve been here.
I’ve also got all of my paperwork together to have my mileage to and from the ranger station reimbursed. It’s just 7.1 miles to the ranger station from the campground but 14.2 miles 4 days a week adds up….I ended up with about 475 miles on the truck. Now I just have to wait to have Debra & Ivan (the district ranger) sign the forms so that they can be sent to the finance office. Once they’re processed there should be a direct deposit to our bank account.
I spent the afternoon up at the gatehouse. The campground is still pretty quiet although we have more here than we have for a while. I had about 4 new campers come in while I was working but still leaves the campground pretty barren. In our opinion its the perfect time/weather for camping….only about mid 70s during the day and 40-50s at night…perfect sleeping weather.
Since it was pretty quiet at the gatehouse I started a new loom knitting project…a wrap for myself. Something to put around my shoulders in the evenings when it’s a little on the cool side.
Only 10 more nights here at Ocean Pond Campground!
