About a week ago we found that we had no hot water. Michael switched it over to gas and after a short while we had hot water. Over the next couple of days he switched back and forth between gas & electric and found that it was for sure not working when turned to electric.
He pulled out the electric thermostat because after checking the voltage it didn’t seem to be working. He was pretty sure that we just needed a new thermostat but wanted to talk with a guy in the park that has knowledge about such things. He was finally able to get together with that guy today and his suspicions were confirmed…we need a new thermostat….again. This one was replaced while we were still in Montgomery last summer. It was quite an ordeal….18 days worth of hassle just to get the darn thing replaced. Thankfully, Michael is handy and now that he knows for sure what the problem is…he can fix it himself.
Michael ordered the new part today from HVAC Part Store and had it shipped to the ranger station where I’ll pick it up. If you’re interested in reading about the last water heater sage you can click HERE.
Michael made a fire late this afternoon and we sat and relaxed while enjoying the crackling flames. It was about 5:00 pm so we had some s’mores for dinner and then when the fire died down we went in the house and had Pork Carnitas for dessert. It was another new crock pot recipe and they turned out pretty darn good and were super easy to make! We had plenty for another meal so I packaged them up and put them in the freezer.
We spent the rest of the evening watching The Last House On The Left and even had a midnight snack (at 9:00 pmish) of Key Lime Pie! Ahhh…what a life!
