Happy Thanksgiving, Y’all!

Woke up just after 7:00 am to the quiet hum of the furnace blowing warm air throughout the house.  Too cold for the heat pumps as they don’t work below 32 degrees…so when it gets below 32 degrees everything automatically switches over to the furnace.  Thankfully, the coach is insulated very well and we were … Continue reading »

Baby, It’s Cold Outside!

Tuesday was a soggy day….it started raining before I left for the Rangers Station and continued until after I arrived.  It stopped raining for a good portion of the afternoon but then started again in the early evening and continued for several hours after we went to bed. Wednesday brought drier conditions but wind and … Continue reading »

Locks Of Love

The days are flying by…Hard to believe but we only have 37 days until we are On the Road Again! Thursday 11/21 I worked at the Ranger Station and was, thankfully, given a few new projects to work on to help keep me busy.  I also worked on the Library shelf project again…just a little bit here … Continue reading »

Water Heater, Bookshelf & A Walk Down Memory Lane

Sunday was a nice, quiet day.  Other than doing a few loads of laundry we didn’t do much of anything.  We spent the majority of the day watching movies that we had stacked up on the DVR.  I tried another new recipe…this one for Crock Pot Asian Chicken.  It was ok but we both preferred … Continue reading »

Darned Water Heater!

About a week ago we found that we had no hot water.  Michael switched it over to gas and after a short while we had hot water.  Over the next couple of days he switched back and forth between gas & electric and found that it was for sure not working when turned to electric. … Continue reading »

Workin’, Prescriptions & BBQ

Another week is almost in the books.  I worked at the Ranger Station Tuesday thru Thursday….creating Excel files and typing up an inventory of the various recreation sheds here in the Osceola that had been done by another volunteer back in May.  That’s the kind of work I enjoy so it goes quickly and is … Continue reading »

Munzee, Meet The Parnell’s, Jacksonville NAS & The Birds!

Saturday we drove to Jacksonville, about a 60 mile drive east.  The plan was to do some Munzeeing as it was a special day.  Each regular Munzee was worth 4 times its regular point value.  Jacksonville is loaded with Munzees and we only made a drop in the bucket…but we got just under 800 points … Continue reading »

A Visit From Kermit…

Michael found a little bitty tree frog hiding out in the shower this morning.  When he was taking him to the door to let him outside the little guy decided he liked it inside rather than outside and took a leap.  We’ve looked high and low, called his name (Froggy/Kermit) but didn’t see hide nor … Continue reading »

Keeping Smokey The Bear Busy!

Another day at the ranger station for me.  I continued working on the Recreation Notebook project I yesterday.  While I was working I heard that the fire guys were doing a ‘prescribed burn’ (I’ve always heard it called a ‘controlled burn’) in the forest behind the office. I thought it would be interesting to see … Continue reading »

Staying Busy…

Sunday was a nice day.  We didn’t do much but the weather was on the cooler side which encouraged us to get out and take a couple of spins around the park.  We stopped and chatted with Stan & Sandy a couple of times and Stan introduced us to their friend, John, who is here … Continue reading »
