We received word about 1:00 pm that we were clear for take off!  We had a quick lunch of leftovers and then packed up the coach.  Since today’s journey was a short one we didn’t worry too much about making sure things were stowed perfectly making for a quick and easy pack up.  Michael took the garbage can and water hoses that Ranger Frank let us use back to him before we left.

Michael was in the middle of finishing up the final touches in the basement when we got word to move so he completed that before we left as well.  He had been putting the carpeting on the front wall of the basement.  He’d already installed the carpet on the back wall last week.  The original carpet color was black but I think it looks much nicer with the gray that he replaced it with.

We pulled out of the Olustee Battlefield about 3:30 pm.  The 7 mile journey was smooth and painless.  We were told to pull into camp host site #2 since only 2 of the 3 camphost couples was returning.  This site has water, electric and sewer…so no more dump station!  It also has a large concrete patio and a storage shed to use for our personal items if needed.  This site is much larger and nicer than the one we had previously.

We are now on the non-electric side of the campground and it seems that maybe there will be less ‘traffic’ with campers coming and going.  The electric side seems to be quite a bit busier.  I guess we’ll just wait and see.

Set up went smoothly inside and out.  Michael got the satellite dish set up in no time flat…which is kind of unusual as he usual has to make some adjustments but not today.  I even took the time to put some knick-knacks out as we should be sitting still for the next 2 1/2 months or so now.

Debra (my supervisor) stopped by when we got here.  I’ll be meeting with her and Allison tomorrow morning at some point to go over what kinds of things they’ll be wanting me to do.  I do know that tomorrow afternoon they’d like me to man the gatehouse since they think there will be quite a few people coming in to camp.  Sounds good to me!

I had put the fixing’s for some potato & ham soup in the crock pot this morning.  When we moved I carefully stowed it(in the kitchen sink!) so that it wouldn’t spill and when we arrived at the campground I put it back on the counter and turned it on so that it could simmer until we were ready for dinner.  Nice, easy dinners are the best!

We want to hear from you...whatcha got to say??
