Yesterday we took the 22 mile drive into Hershey to the RV show so that we could do a little walking around to see what’s out there. We saw a few coaches that we liked and might consider if we were in the market for a new coach but nothing that really stood out over the rest. We decided that the Redwoods would definitely be in the running if we were looking to purchase now.
We stopped by the Heartland table, of course, and Jim introduced us to a couple that are looking to purchase their first coach and start full-timing. We spoke with them for nearly an hour and answered as many questions for them as possible. Jim invited them to Saturday night’s potluck and we’re hoping that they can make it. They’ll be able to meet a lot more Heartland owners and ask as many questions as they’d like.
We were at the show for about 3 hours and barely made a dent in viewing the huge number of coaches on display. Thankfully the weather was much cooler than it was the day that we worked…about 20 degrees cooler! Just before leaving I came across a camera crew that was doing some taping…being my mothers daughter I stopped one of the crew and asked what they were recording. The young lady replied that they were recording for an upcoming RV show on HGTV. I thought that was pretty cool!
On our way home we stopped at a Walmart to do some grocery shopping. We also picked up some items for Nancy as she’s stranded without a vehicle while Jim is working at the show.
The drive to and from Hershey was done on backroads and is gorgeous…green, rolling hills with beautiful architecture thrown in along the way.
While at Walmart we picked up a rotisserie chicken for dinner. The chicken will also go into tonight’s potluck dish as well as some of it being frozen for future use. Can’t beat one of those chickens as they are fully cooked, fairly reasonable, pretty tasty and go a loooong way!
Yesterday was the first official rally day and it was started out with an ice cream social at 6:30 pm at the Chapter leaders site, which happens to be 3 sites from ours. We made our way over, enjoyed some ice cream, chatted with other owners and enjoyed a nice campfire. We have never met many of the folks here at this rally but hopefully we can change that before the weekend is over.
