It has been much too long since we’ve been to church so we rectified that today by attending mass at Our Lady of Grace in West Babylon at noon. The church is huge with stained glass windows along two sides…nothing gaudy just elegant. All churches seem to sing the songs in different tempos and this one was no exception. However, everything was on the slower side and when they did pick up the beat it almost felt like a rendition of a Coca Cola jingle! LOL No homily today as there was guest speaker who is a nun and missionary. We also found it different that there was no recessional song…just some music.
After church we met Dan & Amanda at Dave & Buster’s in Farmingdale. (Alex stayed home with a babysitter) They serve food and also have a huge game room so you can play nearly any kind of game you’re interested in. We were here a few years ago and Zack & Kelsea joined us too.
We enjoyed our lunch (Philly steak sandwiches for the boys, chicken tacos for me and steak & shrimp linguine for Amanda) and when we were done we headed to the game room. For an additional $6.50 tacked onto our meals we were provided with $10 worth of game play. We all roamed around playing various games but Dan, Amanda and I spent quite a bit of time playing a trivia game with each other. When the three of us had spent all of our credits we went on a massive search for Michael….searching high and low and canvasing the places several times…to no avail. We even checked the bathrooms, texted him and checked the pool hall. He finally turned up and come to find out he was in a lone corner playing some racing game! Before leaving we pooled our tickets and got a couple of stuffed monkeys for Alex and his baby brother.
Michael and I made a quick stop at Walmart (deployed some Munzees too!) before heading home to stay with Alex while his mom and dad went to a movie. We have so many leftovers in the fridge that we just warmed some up and relaxed while watching TV.
