The last few days have been quiet and laid back….playing with our grandson, Alex, (who is one silly little boy), visiting with Dan & Amanda and just plain old relaxing. It’s still been too hot (mid 90s or so) to want to do anything outside. We’re looking forward to cooler temps to get out and do some ‘playing’.
However, yesterday we did venture out to go to a couple of open houses for homes that Dan & Amanda had viewed before and wanted us to look at them as well. The housing costs on Long Island are CRAZY! With that being said…they are concentrating on three factors: School district, neighborhood and commuting distance to work. The closer the commute to Dan’s office the more ‘work’ the homes need and the higher the asking price.
The 2 homes we looked at were completely different….the first being an older home in need of a LOT of updating, and only about a 15 minute drive to work. The second home was pretty much brand new with a completely ‘undone’ huge backyard but almost 30 minutes drive to work. So much to consider!
After viewing the two homes we went to Wings Over Farmingdale for an early dinner (lupper). It’s a small franchise that serves wings & ribs. We all enjoyed our meals and since we were the only customers in the place it was nice and quiet too!
Dan & Amanda had friends (Zach & Amanda) over to play games in the evening. Michael and I decided to head home early and enjoy a quiet evening at home – watching TV and surfing the internet.
