More Basement Work And Grandbaby Time

We haven’t been doing a lot of anything….mostly spending time with Dan, Amanda & Alex at home.  Dan works a lot of hours so we reserve our big ‘adventures’ for the weekends. Michael’s been able to continue his work in the basement by adding a few specialty items he wanted in the basement.  He added … Continue reading »

It has been much too long since we’ve been to church so we rectified that today by attending mass at Our Lady of Grace in West Babylon at noon.  The church is huge with stained glass windows along two sides…nothing gaudy just elegant.  All churches seem to sing the songs in different tempos and this … Continue reading »

Sagamore Hill, Molly Brown, Noodles and Nesting

Reader beware:   Grab a snack and a drink as this is a long post!    On Friday, Michael took some more time to continue his progress in the basement.  He purchased two ‘pancake’ lights from Heartland while we were in Goshen and was able to get them installed in the back basement so that … Continue reading »

Cooling Temps

Thankfully, it’s cooled off enough the last couple of days so that Michael has been able to get outside and continue his work in the basement.  He was able to cut holes in the ‘new’ wall for cable/satellite, electrical outlet, vacuum cleaner receptacles and a heat vent.  So we can once again watch TV outside! … Continue reading »

More Homes, Games & Pasties

We went to two more open houses today.  The first was one that Dan and Amanda had already visited a couple of times and really liked.  A very nice home with great curb appeal…though the neighborhood is a bit old/tired.  It was one of the cheaper homes we’ve seen and a fairly decent commute for … Continue reading »

Diapers, Wings & House Hunting

The last few days have been quiet and laid back….playing with our grandson, Alex, (who is one silly little boy), visiting with Dan & Amanda and just plain old relaxing.  It’s still been too hot (mid 90s or so) to want to do anything outside.  We’re looking forward to cooler temps to get out and … Continue reading »

Settling Into Our New ‘Site’ On Long Island

Oh my gosh, it’s hot!  So hot you just really don’t feel like doing anything….so we really haven’t done a whole lot.  But here’s a quick ‘catch up’. Tuesday – We spent the day lounging mostly.  Amanda, Alex and I went to BJ’s Wholesale Club and Stop & Shop to do some grocery shopping.  The … Continue reading »

Moving Day: Brookville, PA To West Babylon, NY

We chilled at home until about noon – route planning, Facebooking, checking email, activating our new EZ Pass, etc.  By that time we were pretty hungry and moseyed on over to Denny’s for some breakfast.  Thankfully we weren’t in any hurry as it took us almost 45 minutes to get our breakfast. After breakfast/lunch Michael … Continue reading »

Moving Day – Goshen, Indiana To Brookville, PA

Ahhh….after 38 nights here in Goshen, Indiana today is moving day!  We have really enjoyed our time here and aren’t necessarily ready to leave but our grandbaby, Alex, awaits!  With all the work Michael has done on the coach while we’ve been here we haven’t gotten the quality time together that we’re used to and … Continue reading »

Basement Complete….For Now & Bearings Repacked

Our time here in Goshen is quickly coming to an end.  We’ve really enjoyed it here and will certainly be back! Michael’s day was just as busy as every other day for the past 3 weeks…but it is winding down tremendously!   This morning he installed the chase that holds a bunch of wiring above the … Continue reading »
