Just Another Day….

There were just a few Heartland rigs left in the park this morning – us, the Wolbeck’s, the Evans’, the Hershbergers, the Cooper’s and the Kuykendall’s.  The Evans’ left about 9:30 while the Kuykendall’s pulled out just before 11:00 am and the Wolbeck’s left for an appointment at Lippert about 11:00 am – for their sake we were hoping that they didn’t end up back at the park this evening.  (They finally got things squared away with their coach brakes and were able to start heading south)  The Cooper’s pulled out some time this morning as well…but because they were over in the south section we weren’t witness to their departure.  So now it’s just us and the Hershberger’s until they are able to get their awning fixed – it was broken during the windstorm Monday night.

We had Nelly & Kevin over for breakfast before they pulled out and it was nice way to say our good-byes as we most likely won’t see them until January when we’re all back in Tampa for the Tampa RV Show.

Michael worked on getting the old rotten particle board out of the basement.  He was able to remove all of the mushy stuff today.  Tomorrow he’ll need to rework a little of the plumbing in order to get it out of the way temporarily.  When that’s complete he can start demolition on the rest of the flooring.  For that he’ll need to use a circular saw to cut it up to make removal easier.  Stay tuned!

The fairgrounds personnel were good enough to let us store the various parts of the basement that needed to be removed in order to continue gutting the basement.  We were able to store it on the east end of the dairy barn where it will stay out of the elements until we can get them put back in place again.

We noticed that preparations for the upcoming 4H Fair are underway as several circus-like tents have cropped up around the grounds.  Too bad we have to vacate our site just before the fair begins as it would have been fun to stay and visit the animals and enjoy the events….oh well.
