Plumbing, Walking & Umping

Posted by on April 26, 2013

Seems like we haven’t had much time to sit and chill since we’ve arrived in Vancouver.  Lots going on!

On Tuesday we went over to Zack & Kelsea’s and Michael got the templates fixed so that he can router Cameron’s name into the top of his stool and then stain and varnish it.  While he did that I cooked dinner for all of us.  I tried 2 new recipes – one for Cheesy Stuffed Chicken and then for dessert Pineapple Angel Food Cake.  Both turned out good and could possibly been seen again!

On Wednesday the Washington Barnett’s came over so that Zack could help Michael work on re-plumbing the basement.  Michael’s wanted to do this task for quite some time.  While Zack was here they were able to get all the old plastic tubing removed to make way for the new PEX.

On Thursday we met Z&K and babies at Salmon Creek Park to go on a walk along the creek and to capture a bunch of Munzee’s.  We packed a picnic dinner and afterward watched Zack ump a U-14 girls softball game, which happened to be held at the same park.  It was a beautiful day…about 75 degrees with lots of sun.

Michael also worked most of the morning and afternoon installing the new PEX in the basement.  He was able to finish up this morning (Friday) and we only had one major leak…he forgot to tie in the one MAIN water valve coming from the UDC!  Go figure!  Anyway….that’s one less thing on the ‘To do’ list.

We were without water during the plumbing job but thankfully we’re right across from the bathrooms/rec room.  These are probably the cleanest bathrooms we’ve seen in a long time.

Regressing a little here….on Monday we had some AWESOME views of Mt St Helen’s & Mt Hood and I just had to share.  We’ve had good views of Mt. Hood in the past but never so clear of Mt. St. Helen’s.  Just think…it used to have a peak too!  We are able to view from the ‘high’ side so you can’t see the actual crater from here.  Next week we plan to take a drive to visit it up close and personal!

Now I must finish up so that we can, yet again, venture out!  Gonna visit the ‘land bridge’, grab some Munzee’s, watch Zack ump and have dinner out with our favorite Washingtonites!
