Travel Day: Phoenix, AZ to Camp Verde, AZ

Posted by on March 28, 2013

Our goal was to pull out of Desert Sands RV Park at 11:00 am this morning and we pulled out at 10:55…right on time!  We had a very short trip of just 76 miles to our new parking spot in Camp Verde, Arizona.  We had a nice drive and enjoyed the ever-changing scenery.  We really enjoyed passing by what we called a Saguaro Cactus Forest…so many, different shapes and so BIG!

We arrived at the Krazy K RV Park, checked in and were set up (minus the satellite dish hookup) in site 9 by 1:05 pm.  Not a bad day!  We are in site 9, a pull through, and have some nice views of the mountains across US 17.  The park is small and seems to be fairly quiet.  It’ll be a nice home base to see the local attractions (Montezuma’s Castle, Tuzigoot Ntl Monument, the Red Rocks, Palatki Ruins etc).

This afternoon we took a quick trip into town to capture 3 Munzee’s and have a look around.  We walked mainstreet and enjoyed some gorgeous views of the mountains surrounding us.  A small town with a western theme it seemed even smaller than it’s 10,000 inhabitants.

When we got back home we chatted with our neighbors that are from British Columbia.  They’ve been here before and gave us some good tips on places to visit while we’re here.

We threw some Opa’s sausage on the grill, that we had picked up in Fredricksburg, for dinner and enjoyed them outside on the patio.  The weather is beginning to grow a little cooler as we move north.  Only a high of about 80 here today and looking for a low of 52…good sleeping weather!

Our internet connection is quite slow and I’m having trouble uploading pictures so I will have to do that at a later date.

We want to hear from you...whatcha got to say??
