Our Brewers Win, But Robin’s a No Show!

Posted by on March 27, 2013

Today was our last full day in Phoenix and we spent it at Maryvale stadium watching the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Kansas City Royals 9 to 1.  We  have been very lucky since 5 of the 6 games we attended were wins and we even got to watch Team USA beat Team Italy during the World Baseball Classic.  Sadly…I never did get to see Robin Yount this Spring Training.  I’m not sure that he even showed up for Spring Training this year…what’s with that???

After the game we went for an early dinner at The Pitt’s Again a BBQ place recommended by Guy Fieri of Diners, Drive Ins and Dives.  A cool place in a New York diner type building…inside is decorated with all kinds of pigs.  We were greeted by a young man that noticed our Milwaukee Brewers shirts and told us that he was from Port Washington, a small town just north of Milwaukee.  We started with some very yummy deep fried zucchini.  Michael ordered his favorite – brisket and was pleased with it…which is huge cuz he’s VERY picky about his brisket.  I ordered the ribs and was very happy I did…they were darn good.  We’d go there again and we’d also recommend it to others.

After dinner we stopped at Walmart to do some grocery shopping to hopefully tide us over until we get to Ogden, Utah in a few weeks and made a quick stop at Sonic to get a couple of green apple slushies.  Michael had me take a picture of the Sonic as it’s the strangest one we’ve ever seen and he thought our kids would get a kick out of it.

No drive in really...more like a an McDonalds set up. Tables inside had phones to place your order.

We’ll be hitting the road tomorrow but since we only have a short 75 miles to drive to Camp Verde we won’t be in any hurry as we don’t plan to pull out until 11:00 am.

We want to hear from you...whatcha got to say??
