Yesterday afternoon we decided to do some Munzee hunting on the northeast side of Phoenix since we were going to be on that side of the city. Michael wanted to stop by Arizona Power Tool and have them look at his Milwaukee drill as it stopped working on Sunday. The drill isn’t a year old yet and is still under warranty. The guy that looked at it wasn’t able to figure out the problem and would need more time to evaluate it and it would take 7-10 days to get parts…since we’re leaving next week that wasn’t an option. We’ll get it taken care of when we get to Vancouver, Washington next month.
There are two large ‘clusters’ of Munzee’s on the northeast side of Phoenix (a total of 42!) that we’d been eyeing for a while and thought that this would be a good time to capture them. Unfortunately, out of those 42 Munzee’s only 8 were still there…all of the others were gone…many of which we could see where they had once been. We found one on the ground and glued it back into its rightful home. It was really quite disappointing but we did get a good walk out of all of it….plus we got to enjoy some pretty mountain views!
Today we went to another Brewers game and we once again, were treated to a win! The Crew beat the Los Angeles Angels 6-1. Today was Ryan Braun’s first day playing with the team after his stint playing with Team USA during the World Baseball classic…it was nice to see him out on the field again. During the 1st inning Albert Pujols (Angels) was hit by a pitch and the ball deflected off of him and hit the home plate umpire and broke his left hand. He was escorted off the field by the Brewers trainer and the game continued….with just 2 umpires on the field…and one of them called the game from behind the pitcher’s mound for a little while until another umpire changed into ‘plate’ gear and got back out on the field. It was quite strange to watch a game with no home plate ump! Click here to read more.
After the game we took ‘the long way home’ so as to capture some Munzee‘s! We had 11 in our sights (1 being a virtual) and of those 11 we were able to actually capture 8…3 were gone. We also stumbled upon a nano Geocache too! It was a good day! As I’ve said before…Munzee hunting sometimes takes us to some places we’d never have seen if we weren’t playing the game. Today we had an F-16 Fighter jet zooming over our heads, visited a small waterfall, pond, windmill and another sundial!
