Our morning was spent straightening up and putting things in their ‘moving’ homes. Michael worked outside getting things ready for us to leave tomorrow while I worked on getting things put away inside. Our plan is to hit the road about 9:00 am tomorrow. We have about 300 miles to drive to our stop for the night and then we’ll push on into El Paso on Tuesday.
While Michael was working outside he went across the street to a Heartland Cyclone that came in yesterday while we were out. We’d heard that he had 2 motorcycles and might be the guy that had the accident we came upon yesterday. We heard right! Sounds like he thinks that the bike is repairable and that most of the damage was done to the saddlebags. I’m still just glad that he was unhurt for the most part.
Another activity that many of the rally-goers was going to the Rockbox for the matinee show this afternoon. We boarded a bus at 12:45 and were on our way to Fredericksburg for the show by 1:00 pm, arriving at 1:30 pm. We really enjoyed listening to the music of The Eagles, Cher, Aretha Franklin and George Strait to name a few. We were treated to some great guitar & harmonica playing and there was even some comedy thrown in. If you’re ever in Fredericksburg give it a try they have shows EVERY weekend.
Our last rally event was the ever famous POTLUCK! Tonight was no different from any other potluck…there were LOTS of dishes with LOTS of variety and everything tasted wonderful. And as ALWAYS the company was TOP NOTCH!
We made sure to get hugs and say our goodbyes to everyone tonight as we’re not sure who we’ll see in the morning before everyone starts pulling out. I took time after I was done eating to take pictures of some of our Heartland friends. We won’t see any of Heartland family until we meet in June for the National rally in Goshen, Indiana. Unfortunately, I was only able to upload a few pictures of our friends before the internet said, ‘no more’. 🙁
