On Monday, Wednesday & Friday of each week, Pony Express Propane company, drives throughout the park and stops and fills propane tanks for those that need it. You can leave your propane tank out with a check attached (most put them in a plastic bag) they will fill it for you without you being there. One of our tanks needed filling so Michael went out, when we heard the truck, to get things squared away. The tank was filled in less than 5 minutes, without having to take somewhere for $26.00. Not bad!
This afternoon we went to the first of 4 ‘scheduled’ Heartland events – a Meet & Greet at Retama village. Our friends Jay & Stella put on the event. Today’s meet & greet was also a potluck – I prepared a new dish called Arkansas Green Beans before we headed over a little early to help Jay & Stella get things set up. We had a pretty darn good turn out with 40 or so people attending. It was nice to see friends we haven’t seen in a while and to chat with others we’d not yet met. As usual, the food was wonderful!
Afterward we and 2 other couples (Jay & Stella & Kevin & Nelly) went over to Jim & Nancy’s to visit. We chatted quite a bit about the upcoming rally. Jim gave Kevin & Nelly (Michael listened in too) lessons on their newly purchased iPad. Lots of good conversation and many laughs. We headed home about 9:00 pm and turned on the air conditioning (first time!) as the last few nights have been pretty warm with just the windows open.
I’m pretty excited as Nancy asked me to help her coordinate the ‘leisure time activities’ for the National rally in June. Sounds like a lot of fun! Contacting people to demonstrate, scheduling times, etc….I’m looking forward to having ‘something to do’! From the sound of it Michael will be helping Kevin with the parking of coaches too. So we’ll both be able to help out. Woohoo!
