We had a relatively relaxing day yesterday. I had a ton of laundry to get done and Michael concentrated on getting the satellite dish working. He made a call to Satpro, the company he purchased our meter. After talking with the technician, who seemed to be quite helpful, he found that he was on the wrong frequency. Once he changed frequencies we had TV! Woohoo!! Now…lets just see how this works next time we move.
After dinner we went for a short walk around the park before it got dark. We stopped and chatted with Paul and Nan (fellow Heartland owners) for a while. When we talked with them shortly after arriving here Nan mentioned a Heartland rally in Thackerville, Oklahoma that they’re going to attend. I kind of blew it off but looked into it yesterday and found that the dates coincide with our departure from Canton, Texas next month. Since we had NO plans when leaving Canton we decided to attend the rally too! Heck…it’s just over 100 miles from Canton! So we’ll be looking forward to visiting Oklahoma & adding another sticker!
We had several errands to run today and I had hoped we wouldn’t be gone all day but we ended up being going from about 10:30 to 4:30. We made stops at: Brooks Army Medical Center (BAMC), Fort Sam Houston Clinic (Tricare & prescriptions), Military Clothing Sales, PX (lunch), General delivery office, Post office and the commissary. We got everything we wanted to do done and got answers to questions.
When we got back home Zack was here waiting for us and had started doing his laundry. Zack grilled teriyaki salmon. I’d never cooked salmon before and he had so I got a nice lesson as it turned out very good! Now I’m willing to try it on my own! We also had steamed broccoli & wild rice. Yummy meal all the way around.
After dinner we played a game of cribbage with Zack in the lead the majority of the game….until…mom came from behind and won!! Go mom!
We are currently in the house watching the Presidential debate. Those of you who know me know what agony I am in right now. But so far Michael & Zack are behaving so I’ll stay in the room for now! 😉
