Nothing Better To Do…

Beautiful temps (mid 70s in January???)  in Montgomery, Alabama today…however…we have rain in the forecast ALL weekend!  Any outside projects had to take a back seat so I worked on making plans and reservations for the beginning of Michael’s retirement!

In August, Michael is taking a few weeks leave and we will be going to Wisconsin for a Heartland Rally, Family Reunion and spending some time in Milwaukee to see a Brewers game and do some visiting.  Already made reservations for the Rally at Country Roads RV Park in Lake Delton, WI and emailed for reservations in at Indian Shores Campground in Woodruff & State Fair RV Park in Milwaukee.  We hope to be taking Michael’s mom, Alice, with us on this trip – please say some prayers that her health allows it!

We will be back in Montgomery Labor Day weekend until September 17th.  Michael will be on leave during this time so we hope to do some relaxing and site-seeing in the nearby area.  A few of the things I’d like to see or do with our last days in Alabama are:  Bud’s Best Cookie Tour, Blue Bell Creamery Tour, Golden Flake Tour, and Fort Toulouse.

Michael will do his out processing at Fort Benning and we plan to stay at the Uchee Creek Army Campground there for a few nights while he is there.  From September 20th – September 30th he will be on terminal leave and we will begin our travels with a visit to our good friends Ken & Cheryl Dyal, who live in Williamston, SC.  We plan to stay nearby in Piedmont at the Ivy Acres Park for a few days.  If all works out the next destination will be Fort Wilderness Campground in Whittier, NC where my brother Dave is currently living/working.

We have reservations from October 1 – November 1 at Joint Base San Antonio RV Park.  The really BIG plus to this is that our oldest son, Zack, will be at Ft Sam Houston from September – November  for some military schooling!  Keeping our fingers crossed that his wife, Kelsea and daughter Paityn can join us for a nice long weekend!

I know that we will be ‘wintering’ in Texas this year and hoping to spend time in Canton, Galveston area, Corpus Christi, Mission & El Paso/Ft Bliss before heading to Arizona for Spring Training!

We want to hear from you...whatcha got to say??
